After the Customs Union Agreement was signed in 1996, the New Approach Directives adopted by the European Union began to be enacted one by one. One of these is the Regulation on Electrical Equipment Designed for Use within Certain Voltage Limits (2006 / 95 / AT). This regulation, Low Voltage Directive (Low Voltage Directive, LVD).

The Regulation establishes the safe rules for the safe market of electric vehicles and the principles for the conformity assessment process.

The safety requirements in the Low Voltage Directive are:

  • The basic features that will enable the electric vehicle to be recognized and used in a safe and appropriate manner for the purpose of production shall be explained in a warning document on or above the vehicle.
  • The name of the manufacturer or the brand of the product must be printed legibly on the electrical vehicle or on its packaging.
  • The electric vehicle must be manufactured in such a way that it can be safely and properly mounted together with all its components.
  • The design of the electrical product must not emit hazardous heat, arc or radiation provided that it is properly used and maintained regularly. Furthermore, the insulation of the vehicle must be properly designed.
  • The electrical product must be manufactured so as not to endanger human and animal life.
  • In addition to this, it must meet the mechanical requirements expected from the vehicle, must be resistant to environmental conditions, should be taken against overload, and should not constitute a non-electric hazard.

Meets all these counts electrical circuits and equipment For the manufacturer CE marking, we will follow:

  • If the manufacturer does not have a laboratory of its own, testing and inspection bodyna makes.
  • If the manufacturer has its own laboratory, it performs the necessary testing and inspection work.
  • In both cases the manufacturer technical file prepares and puts test results into this file.
  • The technical dossier also contains all information and documents showing product specifications, including product design work and production stages.
  • The technical dossier also provides a list of standards applied wholly or partly in the production of the electric vehicle, if any standard is not applied, the definitions of the methods applied to ensure the safety requirements of the directive are also included.
  • Thereafter, the manufacturer shall express that the product has been produced in accordance with the relevant Directive. declaration of conformity and puts it in the technical file.
  • CE mark is placed on the product after these works.

TÜRCERT certification body is primarily focused on certification activities. In addition to these studies, it also provides technical services such as various test and inspection works. Therefore, if you need more information about what the CE label means and how CE product certification for electrical circuits and equipment is needed, please do not hesitate to contact the expert managers and employees of TÜRCERT certification body.
