Despite all the legal regulations, standards and sanctions imposed, unfortunately, work accidents cannot be prevented. Moreover, there are many accidents that result in fatal accidents. Ensuring the safety of the employees must be the first priority of the enterprises. In order to achieve this, regular checks should be carried out in a timely manner, in order to ensure that the risky tools that create a hazard during their work are in compliance with the criteria. If there are any non-conformities detected, they should be removed as soon as possible. Possible risks can only be avoided in this way.
At the beginning of the legal regulations, based on the European Union's new Machinery Safety Directive 2006 / 42 / EC Ministry of Industry and Trade issued by the Ministry of Machinery Safety Regulation. In accordance with this regulation, machines should not harm human health, safety and property when properly installed, maintained and used as expected. The safety conditions to be followed during the production of the machines designed in this way, the conformity assessment processes to be followed and the working criteria of the notified bodies that will conduct the conformity assessment are explained in this regulation.

The seventh part of the said regulation describes the safety measures to be taken on the lifting machines. However, based on the authority received from national or international accreditation bodies, these organizations make these checks and prepare reports. It is not important to carry out these checks to a non-accredited test and inspection facility.
According to the Regulation on Health and Safety Conditions in the Use of Work Equipment, periodic inspections must be carried out every year unless another period is specified in the standards. In addition, the Code has added some additional conditions for lifting and transmission vehicles:
- Lifting and forwarding toolsshould be able to safely lift and suspend a minimum of 1,25 of the declared load.
- In the static test to be performed for the cranes, the weight of the load must be at least 1,25 for the declared load and 1,1 for the dynamic test.
- They must also have load-resistant load brakes.
- Stability testing for lifting equipment, other than mobile, is only carried out in accordance with the criteria specified in the relevant standards.
- The maximum weight declared by the employer must be indicated on the vehicle.
- Periodic checks of lifting and forwarding equipment must be carried out by mechanical engineers, machinery technicians or high technicians.
