The RoHS directive is a directive on the limitation of harmful substances. This directive provides for the use of hazardous and hazardous elements and chemicals in electrical and electronic products or within the limits specified. The purpose of the RoHS directive, issued by the Council of Europe in 2003, is to limit the use of the elements and chemicals defined in the directive in electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) and thus prevent potential hazards in terms of human health and environmental conditions.

RoHS directive Although there is a directive implemented within the European Union countries, it has been accepted all over the world except for these countries. Producing companies all over the world are producing under this directive. Otherwise, it is not possible for them to trade, especially to the European Union countries.

Regulation on the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment in 2008 EEE Regulationis published. The scope of the RoHS directive must comply with the standards established by the Council of Europe in all other countries. If electrical and electronic goods manufacturers are producing according to this standard, RoHS Certificate thanks to. For this reason, all accredited laboratories around the world apply the same standard for testing and analysis of the products in question.

Electrical and electronic equipment manufacturers must apply to a certification body in order to prove their conformity to the RoHS directive. In order to apply to this certification body, a technical file must be prepared in advance. The most important document that should be included in the technical satisfaction is the approval certificate obtained from an accredited laboratory.

For tests to be carried out in the laboratory, a sample of the final product to be offered to the customer or intermediate parts to be used at any stage during production must be delivered to the laboratory. Laboratory on this sample testing and analysis and the use of prohibited or restricted substances in its use or whether it is used within the permitted values. In the example, it is important that no hazardous or hazardous elements or chemical substances whose use is restricted, or if they are used, are in the appropriate ranges as described in the RoHS directive. In this case, a certificate is issued by the laboratory.

The electrical and electronic products to be tested are counted in the directive. With the RoHS 2013 directive published in 2, the scope has been further expanded. These product groups are as follows:

  • Large Home Appliances
  • Small Home Appliances
  • Computer technologies and telecommunications goods
